6 Must-Have Bike Accessories To Invest In today

If you’re new to biking and want to make sure you get it right from the get-go, then you’ll not only have to buy a bike but also invest in all the appropriate UK bike accessories to keep you safe on the roads, trails and everywhere else you want to pedal your way through.

Before getting on your bike, you absolutely must have a good-quality helmet. You need to wear this every time you ride, no matter whether you’re worried about hat hair or not. There are lots of different types out there and technology really has come a long way over the last decade or so – so make sure you get some advice as to which one’s the best for you and what you’ll be doing on your bike. It needs to be comfy, not too tight, not too loose and with a built-in vent.

Another must-have item is a saddlebag to attach to your bike that you can put some bits and bobs in, whether it’s a patch kit and tyre levers or just your house keys and a bit of cash. Don’t forget to include a bike pump either as there’s nothing worse than a flat tyre and no way to fix it!

Make sure you buy yourself a bottle cage and water bottle as it’s thirsty work biking about. Alternatively, you could go for a water-carrying system that you pack on your back if you don’t want to attach a bottle to your bike.

And, of course, don’t forget lights for your bike and a sturdy lock to stop people making off with your pride and joy. Check out Cycling Weekly’s recent blog post on what absolute essentials to include in your kit bag for further inspiration!
